Nissan Skyline R33 R-Tune

I took a year lay-off from buying models and went back to mountain biking. Sort of going back to the old hobby. It was my first love actually. I love trail riding and ride my bike every weekend if possible. BUT I still miss this hobby. So, I went to my local hobby shop and purchased this one. This is AUTOart's Nissan Skyline R33 R-Tune in matte black. Some of you probably have one already and most likely have a better pictures of it.

I apologize for the crappy pictures because someone barrowed my tripod and my hands were a bit shaky. One question though. Mine has these Nismo logos on the rims and when I searched for some pictures over the internet and I just couldn't find some pics of a matte black R-Tune with those logos on the rims. I know the R33 matte white version have them but on the matte black? I don't mind really just curious.

1968 Mustang GT

This is AUTOart 1968 Ford Mustang GT in green. Not excatly the ‘68 Bullitt because of the missing JJZ 109 license plate but pretty much the same with AUTOart McQueen’s Bullitt. I’m planning to customize the license plate as soon as I have the time. It had been temporary out of stock for years. Finally AUTOart decided to re-issue it and also the Buliitt version which is only available in the states. With or without the JJZ 109 plate, still a must have for Mustang collectors out there (who have yet to get one). Some collectors who have the red ’68 GT 390 might get a little bit disappointed with this re-issue. It used to have a metal chassis (I believe) that made it stand out from other AUTOart models.. The re-issue now have a plastic chassis (Please correct me if I’m wrong regarding the Bullitt’s metal chassis). It may not matter much to some but to me it does matter! I like my models heavy (without the metal inserts like the ones in the Bugatti signature models). My red ’68 Mustang GT 390 weighs much heavier because of the metal chassis and it feels solid. Well, like I’ve said, a must have to every mustang collector and if you don’t mind the cost cutting then get one. I’m still very thankful to AUTOart for re-issuing this one. Over all, the old AUTOart quality is still there. Flawless paint job, detailed engine bay, perforated grills, marked tyres, etc. Enjoy the pictures and comments are very much welcome! 2008 Bullitt

It has been forever since I started searching for the elusive 1968 Mustang Bullitt. Saw some listings on eBay for a little under USD 300 which I thought a little too much for me. Here I am still searching. Then 2008 Bullitt arrived! I can still remember bombarding AUTOart with emails about making the 2008 Bullitt. They just replied, "We are considering making that one". Emailed them again and replied to me with the same answer. I didn't think it was a computer generated reply as it was in different context just the same meaning. Finally, after a year of waiting for the '08 Bullitt, it has finally arrived! Didn't say that they got annoyed (by my emails) and released this one. It kinda helped maybe...

First impression... WOW! This is one pretty replica and it was all worth the wait. Superb paint job and I really love the rims on this one. Pretty much accurate and I'm glad that they made a new cast for the engine. I was afraid that they would just use the '07 engine and just slapped bullitt logo on it. Thank you AUTOart for the extra effort. One thing though, the grill is just textured and not perforated like the real one. The rear windshiled doesn't sit right. I have to press it down a tad bit so I can lift the trunk. The trunk hits the bottom edge of the windshield whenever I try to open it. Didn't bother me. It would have been a perfect model except for that one. Over all I'm really happy with this one, same goes with all the Mustang that they released. One more thing... Still searching for the '68...

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII

Just found time to shoot some pictures of my models last sunday. This is AUTOart's Mitsubishi Lancer VIII in white body color. Much like an Evolution IX with some very minor difference especially on the front area and 6-spoke rims. Also available in black but unfortunately already sold out. Evolutions VI - IX are all sold out except for the yellow Evolution IX (I was refering to 1:18th scale). The question is, will AUTOart release the Evolution X? Rumor has it that AUTOart is planning to release the rally version of Evo X. Still waiting for that one to come out...

BMW M3 (E30) Evolution, Cecotto Edition

History

In order to celebrate the many competition victories of factory driver Johnny Cecotto, BMW produced a special version of the E30 M3 during 1989 that was named in his honor. This model introduced the 215-hp version of the catalyst-equipped 2.3-liter S14 motor, still rated at 170 lb/ft of torque (though now peaking at a slightly lower 4,600 rpm). This engine, which would become standardized on European-spec M3s beginiing in September of 1989, can be identified in the Cecotto by its body-color valve cover. All other mechanical aspects of the Cecotto edition are identical to the standard E30 M3.

The M3 Cecotto was offered in the same three exterior color choices as the E30 M3 Evolution II: Misano Red (236), Macao Blue metallic (250) or Nogaro Silver metallic (243). It also featured the M3 Evolution II front and rear spoilers, and is further distinguished by its thinner rear window glass and 7.5x16-inch wheels with unique black centers. However, unlike the Evolution II, the Cecotto does not include the front brake ducts in place of fog lights. On the inside, the standard BMW sport seats were trimmed in a special Anthracite or Silver M-Technic cloth with Bison leather bolsters. As an alternative, Black Bison leather, Black extended Nappa leather or Silver extended Nappa leather could be specified at extra cost. Additional special interior features included door sill plates with a color "M3" insignia, an illuminated shift knob and a plaque on the center console that displays the signature of Johnny Cecotto, as well as the exclusive number of each car in the series out of 505. In fact, only 480 Cecottos were built, the other 25 being nearly identical Ravaglia editions. M3 Cecotto editions were further equiped with the green-tinted windshield stripe, power windows, power sunroof, warning triangle + first aid kit, internal headlight aim adjustment and on-board computer II and as standard equipment, while all other features from the regular E30 M3 option list were available at extra cost.

The model

AUTOart did an outstanding job on this model. I prefer this one compared to minichamps version (E30 Sport Evolution). Captured every bit of details of the real car. It also has Johnny Cecotto's signature on the center console which I forgot to take picture of it. I apologize... my bad. The head/tail lights are really well done. No mounting posts visible and they are very realistic. The engine bay features some really nice stuff. Plumbed and wired and the fuse box actually has a clear cover. The front grill is perforated not textured. The badges are done with separate pieces which make it very appealing. I just don't like the protruding keyholes which I think can be found on most models. I just hope they make them separate piece just like the door handles. That would be nice and I honestly think that it will add more to the realism of the replica. Tires are well done with realistic thread pattern but not branded. The dark grey 16inch BBS rims are well defined. It's a pretty heavy replica and one of the few AUTOart models with metal chassis. Yes, this one has a metal chassis like the '67 and '68 mustang fastback, mercedes-benz 190e 2.5 16. The paint job is really excellent. Well done interior with red seat belts which I think is a really nice touch instead of the common black seatbelts. Enjoy the pics below, guys! Comments are much appreciated. Cheers!

And I apologize for that. In my last blog I mentioned my disappointment about the Super GT being a "racing category" and not a "signature series". THIS IS a signature series and I just didn't make any correction with my blog but instead made some corrections with my reply on one of the comments. It was listed as "racing" and not as "signature" on AUTOart site. Sorry about that. But hey, I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed with this one! It was all worth it... The long wait... 2001 R34 Impul Calsonic JGTC #12

Just started my GT-R racing collection and I'll be collecting the ones with the Impul Calsonic livery only though. I have no plans of getting the entire series as that would be too much for me. I still prefer the road going Skyline GT-Rs but I think adding the race car version of each generation would be cool! Especially when AUTOart announced the release of the R35 Super GT which will be arriving this March and I can't wait to get my hands on that beauty! The price of the Super GT is not that desirable though, listed for $159.95 USD really put a lot of collector on the fence being a "racing category" and not as a "Signature series". But the Super GT has full opening features! Main reason why I ordered one (R35 Super GT)... Go to AUTOart website and check out the pictures... Man, you will be tempted to get one also. Moving on. This one is a sealed model (too bad I cannot insert a sad icon here) much like the entire JGTC line up from AUTOart. When I picked this one up I was surprised about weight, heavier than the other sealed models. My guess is that it has some iron plate inserts but I'm not going to open this one up just to prove my curiosity. Still a very nice model with all those accurate exterior detail and if you're a Nissan GTR fan go get one (if you don't mind it being sealed). Expect all the factory logos on the car, Potenza tires, really cool body color, antennae mounted on the rear window, realistic head lights, and very realistic disk brakes. Suprisingly, I got this one off eBay at a very reasonable price from a very reputable seller. Surprised because of the price I paid for it. $79.99 USD to be exact plus $12 shipping. Very reasonable for a hard to find and most accurate R32 replica. I have few AUTOart R32 which are also nice but this one is the better version of Godzilla. I will try to make a comparo pics of the two version which reminds me of the long over due comparo between AA and Kyosho GTR R35. Sorry about that. I'm pretty sure you guys already know the difference between the two replica (R35s) but I will try to do my version. Moving on. Reclining seats, removable donut tires, working suspension are just some of the features and not to mention the correct lines and stance. One drawback though, the paint! As always the problem with Kyosho's early casting is the paint problem prone to blistering that is why I immediately applied wax on it to prevent it. Carnauba wax is the way to go! All natural car wax that doesn't harm the paint and it gives that glossy look to the replica. Again, I would like to apologize for repeating myself... This one is heavy and I like it! A sucker for heavy replica... That's me... Wish me luck for I am currently on the hunt for the maroon Kyosho R32. By the way, Kyosho released the V-SpecII version with BBS rims. According to their website, it was released in July 2009 BUT I just couldn't find one anywhere. I just hope that they continue with the production of the V-SpecII... Better late than never... I acquired this one late last year and believe it or not, I forgot to post this one with all the new models that I acquired early this year. 2010 will be a good year for me because AUTOart is due to release atleast 5 new GTRs and I can't wait to get my hands on them. Especially the R35 Spec V in opal black! Moving on, this (KPGC110) is limited to 1000pcs. worldwide and it was actually pure luck when I was browsing eBay for the KPGC10. Got it from a reputable seller who listed this one without reserve and won the bidding for $47 USD. Yes, $47 USD for a very nice and not to mention one of the hardest skyline replica to find. You can still find some white KPGC110 on eBay but not this red version. If you were wondering how the engine bay and interior detail look like you may check out the Nov 16 post in the archive. R34 Z-Tune

First off, Happy New Year to everybody! This is my first blog for the year 2010 and I would like to share this awesome replica to start the new year. I really had no plans of acquiring one of these because of the price people were asking for on eBay but when someone (from the local forum) was selling it for a little less then the going rate (I paid $202 USD), what the hell... Why not?... It goes for like USD $250-320 on eBay. This is actually the best looking Z-Tune because of the plain body, wider fenders and very low ride height, black rims that go well with the body color. Unlike the other Z-Tune that AUTOart produced with the factory logo all over the car. Being out of stock made it very expensive and I wouldn't mind if AUTOart will totally stop the production otherwise I'd be scratching my head if I saw one selling for USD $99. Hahaha. Just kidding. Lancewr Evolution VI

Just bought my DSLR for Christmas and I thought why not experiment with my new cam using Evolution VI as the subject? I couldn't think of better way exploring my camera other than this. Yes, the quality of the picture (compared with my point and shoot) is stunning! I admit, I have yet to learn all the correct settings for a better result but I'm really happy so far. To make things a bit challenging, I used a black background this time (I'm used to taking pics of my models over whites) and I was really impressed with result. Skyline 2000GT-R, KPGC110 Sport Wide Wheel

When Kyosho announced the reissue of KPGC110, I was really excited to get one (though it was 3 months delayed... I think), it was all worth the wait. This is the Sport Wide Wheel version of the KPGC110. It has the lower lip spoiler and has a much wider rim compared to the stock version (which I will be posting hopefully in the coming week). Kudos to Kyosho for a job well done. Please check out the pictures below and you'll know the reason why I really love this replica. If you love Skyline and don't have one yet, then I suggest get one right away! You won't be disappointed. '72 Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) Presentation Car

This racing version of the KPGC110 GT-R was shown at the 1972 Tokyo Motor Show but unfortunately the car never made it into competition because the race organizers suddenly changed the specification for the participating car. Too bad... Then came Godzilla. It was the BNR32 that dominated the motorsport in Japan for winning the JTC Group A Championship four years in a row. I would like to thank the guys over at Kyosho for reissuing the KPGC110 especially the KPGC110 Sports Wide Wheel edition which I also acquired days ago. So, expect to see some write-ups and some photos of that one also. This is the presentation version (blue metallic) and Kyosho also released the KPGC110 Nismo Festival (metallic green). Okay, you guys really need to check out the engine bay and I think that you'll gonna love it. This replica weighs a ton! I'm a sucker for heavy replica, sorry about that. I just love heavy diecast cars! The heavier the better and I think some collectors will agree with me on that. Kyosho captured the gold trimming design on the body of the actual car, and the "Skyline" script just like the real thing. The gold accent suits the car's body color very well. Nice paint job, slick tyres, really detailed interior and engine bay with complete wirings and you can actually see the throttle lever in there. Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC10)

One of the hardest model to find these days. Even eBay rarely list this one. A good friend of mine Angelo (a.k.a. Nicadraus) saw this car gathering dust in one of the local shops here selling for only $85 (saw one on eBay before for $299). With a help from my good buddy Myk (long story) I grab the opportunity and couldn't wipe the smile off my face ever since. It was sheer luck I guess... This is Kyosho's first release of the KPGC10 (in WHITE box, not the blue box) and I don't think they have plans reissuing it. Worth every penny!!! Not because of it's rarity, this is a well made replica of the grand daddy of Skyline. Just take a look at the engine detail, you'd know that this is a REPLICA not just a model representing the subject. Will let the pictures do all the talking now... Cheers!

Nissan GTR R35 LHD

It has been a while since my last update and I apologize for that. Been really busy at work.
As promised, I would like to show you guys some pictures of my Kyosho R35 LHD Premium Edition. I also have the silver AUTOart R35 and I noticed the difference between the two and pretty much convinced that having both models was a good move. Having the two models is like having best of both worlds if you will. Kyosho as usual outdone AUTOart when it comes to the interior, engine details and to some collectors, rim color. But this doesn't mean that AUTOart's version is not accurate. First release of the GTR R35 was sporting the silver rims then later changed to dark rims. Both are accurate though Kyosho's tire profile is a little bit high for my taste. But it didn't affect the over all appearance of the replica. AUTOart has better exterior. Finer details and tighter panel gaps. The door handle on AUTOart is much much better compared to Kyosho's. Tail lamps and head lamps on AUTOart again is better or should I say realistic compared to Kyosho's version. And of course, hinges on AUTOart are spot on. Kyosho made a good effort for the hood hinges (but still not accurate unlike the hinges used on AUTOart). Even the rear bonnet still has dog legs (AUTOart has the upper hand for using realistic ones with damper support). This one is a Euro/US edition so it has the antennae and it has an orange turn signal light on the side of the body (AUTOart has clear turn signal lights). This one came with Euro and US plates. I highly recommend this replica. Cheers!

When I first saw this color I was really amazed especially with the paint finish... Spotless! No orange peel or big wavy glare... Superb paint job. I believe this is a re-issue because AUTOart first released the midnight purple version as a Performance Edition and this one is in Millennium packaging. If you are wondering the difference between the two, Performance Edition lacks the hood stand and damper support for the rear bonnet. Some early GT-R release of the Performance Edition don't have the 3D badge just silver tampo. Sporting the stock R34 silver rims with gold Brembo disc brakes. The Bayside blue has dark rims which I believe look much better. Check out the pictures of the Bayside Blue R34 (May 25 blog). Would like to thank you guys for viewing my blog regularly! Nissan Skyline Nismo R-Tune R34

I've been buying a lot of Nissan GT-Rs lately and I have 2 new additions (aside from this one) and expect to see them in the coming weeks. As a big fan of the GT-R (especially the R32) even before I started this hobby but only got the chance to collect them recently. Blame 1:18 Ferrari for that... I still love my Ferraris... But this year perhaps is Japanese theme. (By the way... I'm saving up for that exquisite 1:18 Ferrari P4 by GMP, can't wait...)

This is the R1 or the Nismo R-Tune from AUTOart. The hood of the R1 is similar to that of Z-Tune which I'm still missing and not quite sure if I'll be fortunate to own one (it is already sold out). Z-Tune is a lot better in my honest opinion because of the plain body without those logos on the body of the car. Im not big on "decal" and I like 'em simple. But this R-Tune is a must have for all GT-R fanatics including the S-1. Check out the pictures and please let me know what you think. Cheers!

R35 Super Black

This is my second R35 GT-R in Super Black. The first one would be the Super Metallic Silver R35 (you can check my blog on jan. 25 page). It was a tough call whether to get the Kyosho R35 or this one. I've seen the Kyosho up-close and I wasn't disappointed with quality of the model. The realistic hinges on AUTOart did it for me. However Kyosho did not use dog legs on the front bonnet on their R35 BUT still not accurate with the real thing while AUTOart's hinges especially the damper support for the rear bonnet were the deciding factor. Kyosho still uses doglegs on the rear bonnet. Kyosho and AUTOart are tied when it comes to the engine department. Kyosho no doubt has the upper hand when it comes to the interior detail. AUTOart has yet to out do Kyosho in that department. This is not a review but more of an opinion why I chose AUTOart over Kyosho for the GT-R R35. Enjoy the pictures, guys! Thank you for visiting! Ferrari F430 Rosso Corsa

This is my 2nd F430 by BBR. The first one I bought was the F430 Coupe in F1 red (metallic red) with black interior and smoked rims. I really like Ferraris with tan interior like this one because you can really see the details inside without having to open the doors. That is actually the 1st reason why I got another variant. This one is rosso corsa with tan interior and standard clear/silver rims. Now I'm proud to say that this one is my favorite. Hotwheels/Elite recently released the red F430 (just like this one) but after seeing the doglegs on the door hinges I suddenly decided to get the BBR as I am very satisfied with my first purchase. I just don't get it, why use doglegs when they already have a casting with realistic hinges on their previous release of the F430? Back to the subject. It came with 3 luggages and door opening tool. It would be nice if they included car cover like the ones included in the packaging of the Enzo Ferrari BBR (1st release). Thank you for visiting and enjoy the pictures. Comments are welcome. GT-R R32 Calsonic

I find this model a little wierd because it has a Calsonic livery but it has a stock engine and stock interior. I'm not really complaining but just a little lost regarding the accuracy with the 1:1. Now, the good part. Kyosho quality as usual despite the year it was released (being an old casting). The undercarriage was really a surprise. Kyosho did not left that area unnoticed. They put some added details like fuel lines and cables which some makers neglect (sorry, forgot to take some pics). A decent engine bay, same with AUTOart's version and this model weighs a ton. It has a removable donut tire and foldable seats (check pictures below). Cheers!

After collecting Kyosho Ferrari in 1:18, I kinda indulge in the 1:43rd world for a while and stopped blogging 1:18 cars. Well, I said to myself why not buy different marque. Then GT-R late version came into mind. This model from AUTOart has been with me for a little over a year and decided to get a diffrent brand (Kyosho) which was the Calsonic Livery (which will be posted here soon). It has been a while since my last blog. I was really busy at work and couldn't find time to update my site. Anyway, these are 1:43 Evolution IX Ralliart by AUTOart (black and red version). I am missing this version in 1:18 I'm really glad to have them in 1:43rd. Vitesse also released the Evolution IX in red and I'm still on the fence about getting it. Saw this one just sitting in the corner of the shelf (well, it was being covered by some models) while trying to look for some models to buy from a local hobby shop. Paid $25 for it. It was sheer luck I guess. This is one of my favorite in my WRC collection and right now I'm looking for a 1:43 AUTOart Evo VII WRC #7, Delecour / Grataloup by AUTOart. This is Evolution X Ralliart by Vitesse. I really love the black rims on this one. Correct thickness of tires, realistic mesh, CF finish on some of the areas which make this model very appealing. Very detailed interior and you can actually see them clearly because of the rolled down window. Other color variants for Evo X by Vitesse are the following: silver GSR version and metallic gray euro version. Please let me know if I missed out something. Knowing that we won't be seeing this car in 1:18 scale anytime soon. So, I've decided to get it in 1:43 scale. Limited to 1,008 pieces only. Vitesse also released their version of the Evo X and in my honest opinion, both companies did a good job (both with minor flaws actually but nothing to be discouraged about) and will try to explain those very minor flaws here. Kyosho captured the stance of the Evo X accurately. Spot on if you will. I noticed that the tires are too thick though(check pictures below). Vitesse's version is better (I'm talking about the thickness of the tyres). But Vitesse's front end is a little bit bulky compared to Kyosho's. Both have realistic mesh. Kyosho Evo X's headlights are more realistic but Vitesse's tail lights are better (pictures of Vitesse Evo X soon). I highly recommend both models to all the Evo fanatics out there. Big Frustration Leads to Small Solution

I've always wanted the 1:18 version of this model but due to the ridiculous price they are offering on eBay for an Evo VI TME ($200-$300 FYI), I've decided to get the smaller scale selling for $32. I was surprised actually when I saw the detail on this model. No opening parts but they are quite accurate with the 1:1. Steerable front wheels and like its 1:18 version, each wheels rotate independently unlike other model in single axle. The disc rotates with the wheel. Yes, the disc rotates with the wheel like 1:18 version! I think AUTOart deserves the credit for doing an excellent job with their 1:43s. I'm not sure if other brands offer this feature. My photo booth set up

A lot of people are asking me about my studio set up. Well, I don't have a studio to start with. All I have is this small makeshift booth made of used sintra board that I found lying around the office. Approximaetly 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 ft. I used super glue to assemble the booth. You can also use regular board if you like.

The camera. I'm still using my reliable point-and-shoot Sony Cyber-shot 7.2MP digital camera. I don't have DSLR and still saving up for one of those high-tech DSLRs.

The set up. I prefer to shoot using white background so I installed a thin white board for backdrop. The purpose of the backdrop is to eliminate the lines or edges of the board from the images. The smoother the background the better. Note: You can replace the white board with any color. It is all up to you.

I put a 1:18 model for reference. You can make a bigger booth if you like. I don't use artificial lights when taking pictures. Available/natural light produces better quality in my honest opinion.

Raw image is good enough for posting but if you want a better quality, you can manipulate the image using photoshop. Usually I only adjust the brightness and contrast to eliminate unwanted shadows.

This is my latest addition, Nissan GT-R by AUTOart. I was surprised to see the "old" AUTOart quality and couldn't find any areas to complain about. Realistic hinges (not doglegs) with damper support, realistic tail lights, flawless paint job, clean 3D badges, realistic metal exhaust pipes. I'm pretty sure that Kyosho's version (due anytime this year) is equally stunning. I'm also thinking of getting Kyosho GT-R and see how it compares with AUTOart. Trying a different approach...

This is something I learned from a local forum and I still need some fine tuning to really pull off this kind of technique. These are some trial photos and I'm sorry if the quality is not really that good. I don't have a DSLR or some high-tech camera and believe it or not, I'm still using a 7.2mp Sony Cybershot digicam. All the pictures here on my site were taken with that digital cam and I have no plans yet to get one of those DSLR. But it would be awesome to have one...

I still prefer to take photos of my diecast using white background. It is much easier to take pictures and you can really see all the details with the white background. This approach however is better for those dramatic shots and some sort of teaser effect if you will. I used black cardboard, mirror for the flooring and Ikea lamp. Make sure that you don't point the lamp directly onto the model. I used 3 pieces of bond paper as a diffuser. Try it for yourself. Thank you for visiting! Cheers!

First off, I believe that Plymouth introduced the dark bronze metallic in '72, so that makes this car a '72 model and not '71? The box says '71. Anyway, regardless of the color this car is simply stunning. Highly detailed replica from Highway '61. Flawless paint job, detailed engine, marked tires, accurate stance, realistic hinges for the doors and bonnet, opening glove compartment like my BBR F430. Few minor flaws of this replica is the HEMI lettering on the sides of the body, they are too big compared to the real thing and the antennae is too thick. Still, Highway '61 did a great on this one. Shelby GT500 Super Snake

One of Shelby Collectibles' new release is the Shelby GT500 Super Snake. AUTOart did not release the Super Snake so I've decided to get this. This one definitely deserves a little attention especially the interior that lacks carpeting. The engine bay is ok but I think it needs some additional wires and some paint touch ups to make it more realistic. I also need to lower the front end a bit. The Badges are way too thick because SC didn't use photo-etched sticker maybe to lower the production cost. Funny thing though, with all those flaws mentioned I still like this model a lot. Not bad for a $40 model... Not bad at all. Enjoy the pictures. Cheers!

Modification: Project Cobra

My first try on modifying a diecast model and I know that one should practice on a budget model and not with a premium brand such as this one. But I just couldn't help it. There was nothing wrong with this model per se but I thought that there was a lot to be done on the engine bay particularly. An early casting by Kyosho that resulted in a mediocre engine details. I kinda enhanced the look a bit. As i've said, MY FIRST TRY so I don't expect it to look like that it was done by a pro. Well, I did not wreck the car in the process, that is the good news......

Below are some pictures of the Cobra during the process.

This is how the engine bay looked like. See those thick wires?

Now this is the part where I started to feel commited to the project. No turning back as you can see I've disassembled the entire thing. This was necessary because it would be impossible to reach those wires. I took my time and kinda memorized how to put all these pieces back together. This particular casting is really easy to disassemble unlike AUTOart models that you need to remove the rear wheels to reach the hidden screws. And believe me, removing the wheels are really difficult.

Ahhhh, finally this is the stage where I got really excited with the project. As you can see, removing and replacing the wires is easier this way.

I took out the entire thing and worked on the fine braided wires. I painted each wire matte red and I added a small piece of spruce from tamiya kit.

I used super glue to attach the wires to the engine. Just be careful when using super glue and apply small amount only. Just enough to secure to wire to its place.

The Veyron features a W16 engine —16 cylinders in 4 banks of 4 cylinders, or the equivalent of two narrow-angle V8 engines mated in a "W" configuration. Each cylinder has 4 valves for a total of 64, but the narrow V8 configuration allows two camshafts to drive two banks of cylinders so only 4 camshafts are needed. The engine is fed by four turbochargers and displaces 8.0 L (7,993 cc/488 in³) with a square 86 mm by 86 mm (3.4 in. × 3.4 in.) bore and stroke.

Putting this power to the ground is a dual-clutch Direct-Shift Gearbox computer-controlled manual transmission with 7 gear ratios via shifter paddles behind the steering wheel boasting an <150ms>

The car's wheelbase is 2710 mm (106.7 in). Overall length is 4462 mm (175.7 in), width 1998 mm (78.7 in), and height 1204 mm (47.4 in).

One of the diecast models I acquired this week. This is a 2001 Mustang Bullitt by AUTOart and It has been in the market for quite sometime now and I'm just glad that I bagged this one. I got it for $70, not as expensive as the '68 Bullitt (that goes for $150-$300 on eBay). The 2001 Bullitt is a must for all Mustang enthusiast in my opinion.

This is a production version of the Ford Shelby Cobra GT500. AUTOart released two colors for the production version, red with white stripes and Black with white stripes. I have both colors and you may check out the picture of the red version in the gallery section. Hotwheels/Elite also released their own version of the Shelby Cobra GT500 but AUTOart's version is much much better in my honest opinion. Hotwheels/Elite's version has some issues like the tyres are too big, ride height, etc. With the same price tag, you're better off with AUTOart.

After almost a year of deciding wether to get it or not. Thanks to "Tony Stark" (Iron Man Movie) for opening my eyes and made me realize how stupid I was for not getting it right away. This model kinda grew on me. It was not about love at first site but believe me when I say that this is a gorgeous model and I highly recommend it to those who are still missing one in their collection. Kyosho's best effort so far..... Maisto also released their version of the R8 and that one too is really nice if you are looking for a budget model and you won't be disappointed. BUT if you have the extra cash better get a Kyosho. The silver color is awesome but unfortunately not available at the shop I frequent . Thanks again for browsing.... More to come!

Not really sure if this particular car was based on the movie 2Fast 2Furious but it does resemble the car that Paul Walker drove in the film (except for the decals on the sides of the car). I hear that AA didn't get the license to produce the 2Fast 2Furious EVO because ERTL (I think) has the rights on the said car. I think AA would give justice to the car in my honest opinion.

I got this one from a fellow collector last week. It was a very good deal actually considering that this model is rare nowadays. Thanks again for the opportunity... NOW I need the EVO VI and EVO VIII and I'm crossing my fingers to bag those elusive models someday. Especially the EVOVI TME (street version), arghhhhh...... It goes for like $200 plus on eBay! One of my favorite is the Ford Shelby GR1 Concept by AUTOart. Available in two colors, Silver Metallic / Tungsten Grey Metallic Stripes and Guardsman Blue / White Stripes. Another great effort by AUTOart and they really captured the stance of the real thing in my honest opinion. Flawless paint job, highly detailed interior and engine bay (well, the interior is not much to look at because of the minimal design) and the wheels are really awesome! My first impression of the GR1.... stunning.... Seriously, I love Ford's line up but this one really caught my attention. You can tell that this car is really fast. I just hope that AUTOart will make the polished version (like the first GR1 they launched). 6.4L V10 7500RPM 605HP..... 'nuff said.....
